A Waste of Time - Department of Home Affairs
Isn't it absolutely pathetic that SARS can get it right to drain every cent of money out of us, and yet Home Affairs (financed by taxes) cannot provide a proper service. My daughter and I went to Home Affairs more than once to apply for an ID... Then they are off line, then they won't serve us because we arrived at 14h00 and should have arrived earlier!! Today we fethced her ID. We were there before 7h00 at Durban City Centre branch and were only let in around 12h00. In the meantime all applicants and ID collectors had to stand on the sidewalk the whole day (as is the case every day). Such poor service - a waste of time for thousands in the country on a daily basis. Imagine the loss of income for the employer when employees have to take off to go to Home Affairs - nothing fair about that. Of all government departments, Home Affairs is the worst.
