SMART ID CARD - NEVER RECEIVED!!


To whom it may concern

I would like to lodge a formal complaint complaint about the way my situation has been handled today at your Port Elizabeth branch and being assisted by a consultant namely: Themba.

To cut a long story short I applied for an I.D Card today and without any explanation from the consultant was ushered to an fro and eventually was told that I have applied for an I.D Card on the 11 September 2014 which I then informed the consultant I have received no notification for and now was subjected to paying R140.0 x 2. He told me there was no way I would receive my first payment back.

I was then called back to say they have found record that I signed out collection for this phantom card on 24 September 2015 and could come and look at the proof.

Firstly this proof was a photocopy page that did not state whether it was collection for an ID Card or passport or ID Book and had on the top been written in fresh handwriting the collection date - which to me is questionable and leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth. The signature on this photostat page was older to my current one and 2015 last year September I still the very same signature.

Secondly I was offered no resolution just a consultant raising his voice and colleagues passing comments in the neighboring cubicles. I was bluntly told that head office would have discarded my original card.

I would like to escalate this matter as I don't feel that I've been assisted correctly and would like some closure regarding this unfortunate issue.
