Consumer complaint
Exceptionally bad service. I am used to dealing with long lines and am a reasonably patient person. I have used the new Wynberg branch a few times and have never had a complaint. Today however the service received by the manager Mr J Conradie was of poor standard. I arrive timeously to be told I cannot process my renewal of passport,as they cannot accommodate me,I then advise that this should be mentioned on the website in which he replies that the website is a challenge at the moment. I also advise that I have tried with no success to contact the home affairs offices. He then directs me to the nyanga branch,I ask if he can contact the branch as I do not want to drive that far for no help. I'm standing by waiting for an answer from Mr Conradie but the next moment his attending to someone else without so much as an excuse me while I attend to someone else. I work for an airline and believe in proper customer service. I then go to nyanga only to be told their systems are down. Another wasted journey. How can management not have access to other departments. A direct contact...ridiculous. It seems anyone can possess a title of manager at home affairs without the ability to manage,the gentleman assisting had more soft skills than Mr Conradie who seemed incapable of dealing with one person before rudely moving onto next.
