INCORRECT MARITAL STATUS ON HOME AFFAIRS SYSTEM

My fiances marital status was incorrect on the system, and the pastor refused to do go through with the ceremony unless this was rectified, I logged a case with the call center, as all the documents were submitted in at the Edenvale office previously, stressing the urgency of the matter, they provided me with a case number, I mailed them the information and with the assistance of the managers, and the call centre this was settled in 4 days, in time for us to get married this weekend and start a new future, thank you to everyone who had a part to play in solving this big problem for us, you guys are great, keep up the good work, may God bless all of you.

The Home Affairs System incorrectly states I'm married, as where I got divorced in 1986!

I went to get my ID card earlier this year when I discovered this shocking information. I was asked to submit my divorce decree - which I did, but months later I'm still waiting for Home Affairs to correct their corrupt information.

They indicate I'm married to a person who has the same surname as my maiden name. My ex husband got remarried in 1988 - and I changed my married surname to my maiden name after my divorce.

I am really upset that my Country treats me with such disrespect. Should I now take this matter to the Constitutional Court to get it resolved?
